Permanent Filler Removal
Permanent fillers are not a cosmetic inconvenience — they are a medical crisis that progresses silently over years. Surgical removal is the only definitive solution. This is among the most technically demanding procedures we perform.
The Problem
The Silent Crisis of Permanent Fillers
Permanent synthetic fillers — including polyacrylamide gel (Aquamid), silicone, and PMMA-based products — were widely used in the Middle East and Eastern Europe from the 1990s through the 2010s. They are not metabolised by the body. Over time, they migrate, granulate, cause chronic inflammatory responses, and can deform facial contours.
Surgical Philosophy
Permanent filler removal is not a cosmetic improvement — it is a medical rescue. Dr. Jamil approaches each case with the gravity of reconstructive surgery: precise pre-operative imaging, a staged removal plan, and realistic expectations about the tissue distortion that may remain after extraction.
The Technique
Surgical Filler Extraction
The extent of surgical removal depends on filler type, volume, location, and encapsulation. In the face, excision is typically performed through existing natural facial creases or minimal additional incisions. The procedure may be staged if removal of all material in a single session is not anatomically feasible.
Key Benefits
- Definitive removal of permanent filler material
- Resolution of chronic inflammation and granuloma formation
- Elimination of progressive facial distortion
- Staged approach where complete single-session removal is not possible

A Revision Consultation Is an Investigation, Not a Sales Pitch
Patients arrive with a result they didn’t ask for and often can’t explain. Before anyone talks about fixing it, the first job is working out what actually happened.

Temporary fillers fade on their own. Permanent ones don’t, and years later many migrate, harden, or flare up long after the original appointment is forgotten.
